This is Moritz

Moritz is a German house music DJ who divides his time between his native Munich and Seoul, where he had been living for the past 20 years. A co-founder of the renowned Munich DJ collective La Boutique and former resident at Seoul’s legendary club Mystik, Moritz has been active behind the decks for 30 years.

In 1995, together with his friends Marek Eppler and Christian Fischer, he founded the DJ team and club night La Boutique, which ran until 2004 at various venues across Munich—most notably the iconic Atomic Café, where they also hosted international legends like Afrika Bambaataa, DJ Krush, Nightmares on Wax, and Kemistry & Storm.

In 2005, Moritz relocated to Seoul, where he resumed his DJ career and became a resident and co-curator at Mystik until 2017. After the club’s closure, he has continued to perform regularly at notable venues including Discosurf, Concrete Bar, Faust, Contra, Livin’, Modeci, Glam Lounge, Lost & Found, Bolero, Tongro, Pistil, Kockiri, and Nyapi as well as renowned festivals such as Air House or Greatful Camp.

While his style is rooted in house music, he loves breaking boundaries and incorporating anything with groove and soul. Moritz is also one half of “Hausmusik”, a DJ duo with Korean house music legend Jinwook.

Moritz ist ein deutscher House-DJ, der seine Zeit zwischen seiner Heimatstadt München und Seoul verbringt, wo er in den vergangenen 20 Jahren gelebt hat. Als Mitbegründer des renommierten Münchner DJ-Kollektivs La Boutique und ehemaliger Resident im legendären Seouler Club Mystik ist Moritz seit 30 Jahren als DJ aktiv.

1995 gründete er gemeinsam mit seinen Freunden Marek Eppler und Christian Fischer das DJ-Team und die Clubnacht La Boutique, die bis 2004 in verschiedenen Locations in München stattfand – allen voran im ikonischen Atomic Café, wo sie zudem internationale DJ Artists wie Afrika Bambaataa, DJ Krush, Nightmares on Wax sowie Kemistry & Storm präsentierten.

2005 zog Moritz nach Seoul, wo er seine DJ-Karriere fortsetzte und bis 2017 als Resident-DJ und Co-Kurator im Mystik tätig war. Seit Schließung des Clubs tritt er weiterhin regelmäßig in namhaften Venues wie Discosurf, Concrete Bar, Faust, Contra, Livin’, Modeci, Glam Lounge, Lost & Found, Bolero, Tongro, Pistil, Kockiri und Nyapi auf sowie bei renommierten Festivals wie Air House oder Greatful Camp auf.

Musikalisch im House verwurzelt, liebt Moritz es, Genregrenzen zu überschreiten und alles einzubinden, was Groove und Soul besitzt. Zudem ist er eine Hälfte von „Hausmusik“, einem DJ-Duo mit der koreanischen House-Legende Jinwook.
